Vertebrate Zoology

In this course we will examine the diversity of vertebrate form and function as a result of evolutionary history, biogeography and ecology. We will compare the similarities and differences in the vertebrate plan across fish, amphibians and mammals.  This course will illustrate how characteristics are conserved as a result of an animal’s ancestry or modified in response to novel ecological conditions.  This course will acquaint the student with anatomy, systematics, life history and adaptive strategies of each taxonomic group.

Caminalcule Homework.
The Caminalcule assignment is posted under Class Files, to your right.  There are two parts.
In the first part, you are to classify the living species.  You may be creative and make up names, or you can just categorize them into Order 1, 2 etc, Family 1, 2, etc, Genus 1, 2 etc, Species 1, 2 etc.

In the second part, you are creating a phylogenetic tree, using characters and time of fossilization as clues.
